The China Hotel/Marriott

This post is for all of the China moms and dads who will be staying at the China Hotel/Marriott and would like to know about rooms and amenities. Here are some photos of the rooms and other hotel areas.
Welcome basket from the hotel
We have a standard room, which comes with a king-sized bed. If you rearrange the furniture, you can fit in a crib and a rollaway bed.
The housekeeping services are wonderful... they check in on us every day to make sure we are happy.

The bathroom has lots of counter space and a large drawer to store toiletries. The lotions and shampoos smell like ginger, and are stored in a pretty Chinese box. There is a hair dryer, a scale, and a speaker to hear the TV in case you just can't miss that show. :)

Yes, the shower stall is see-through, but there is an electronic shade you can pull down for privacy. I actually like the see-through part because it provides extra light and allows me to see Wendy from any part of the room. One downside: there is not a good place to hang wet clothes, which makes it challenging to do laundry in the room.

The hotel has one full sized closet, another cabinet with drawers and a dresser--ample space for storing clothes and baby supplies. There is a safe and decent-sized refrigerator. If you call the front desk, housekeeping will even bring you a microwave. The hotel offers free high-speed wireless Internet for Marriott Rewards members. You may sign up in advance or at the front desk.
Fire safety mask in room--it looks like a Jiffy Popcorn container!
There is a full breakfast buffet with plenty of American and Chinese favorites.

There is an indoor playroom and an outdoor playground.

The garden is a very pretty area to take a short walk.

The pool is very refreshing on a hot, sunny day.

  2. It's a beautiful hotel. As a matter of fact, we received our daughter in that hotel on the 3rd floor. They brought all the babies to us there.

  3. Love all the pictures Katie! I don't think we're staying there, but I wish we were so I knew what to expect. I suppose the others are similar. Love that you're sharing these details, it's so helpful to me since we're hoping to be there in a few short weeks!
